SPOILER ALERT!
If a genie told me I had one wish I would tell him to erase my memory simply so I could watch Code Geass all over again. Simply put it is the perfect anime. Interesting characters, great setting, a great plot and exciting fight scenes are all featured in this animated rollercoaster.
Lelouch is the main protagonist of the series. And while his actions were truly despicable he can be described by one phrase "An evil man with good intentions". Throughout the 50 episodes he makes you question what is right and what is wrong. Does the end justify the means? Would you destroy the world for a loved one? Would you sacrifice your happiness for the sake of strangers? These questions are asked but its left up to the viewer to answer.
Let's get to the point ... SPOILERS!
Code Geass had one of the best endings for any series ever. After Lelouch killed his father and became "Ruler of the World" (yes you read that right) and became a dictator he was killed by Zero. But we find out all his evil deeds were part of a heroic plan.

Here is the ending with a supposed deleted scene:
They say the studio deleted that scene because they wanted viewers to have their own interpretation of the ending but the answer that seems to be correct thatan made.
But here are the reasons I believe Lelouch is alive:
1) Lelouch was/is? a murderer who used lies throughtout the whole series so what's one more lie?
2) He fell in love with C.C.
Why he should be dead:
