I am a fan of unique tv shows. Series like Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy and Archer. Thats why I enjoyed the first 3 seasons of Weeds. They were full of plot twists and WTF moments. Having nothing to do and day dreaming about Mary Louise Parker selling weed to me I decided to try a new show. After several Wikipedia searches I stumbled upon "Shameless", the US remake of the popular british tv show, on a random forum.

Shameless is the story about the Gallagher family. The show documents their ups and downs as they progress through life in Southside, Chicago. There were moments where I wanted to stop watching but then someone would get killed or a sex scene would appear. So far there are no regrets because while the road seems straight it has its curves. It is one of those shows where it relies solely on the characters for story development which is the reason I enjoy it. The actors are what truly make this carbon shine. I fell in love with characters and found myself hating others. Something only a few shows have caused in me. I believe
Emmy Rossum deserves an Emmy for her performance. I loved her and you will too. And yes it is a good story but the story can be summarized in one sentence.
Shameless is about poor people living in a poor neighborhood. Anyone looking for something to make them rethink that they have it rough should definitely try this out.
Not as good as its British conterpart , but worth a watch.
